Quick Protective Style: The Goddess Braid and Fishtail Braid

Hi everyone! Lately I've been into hair like CRAZY! So here is a quick, pretty and protective style you could try in your hair. If you don't know what protective styles are, I'll explain.

Protective styles are I guess mainly for people with African hair, we use protective styles to protect the ends of our hair from the atmosphere while it grows. If our ends break off, then our hair won't reach the length of it's full potential...I guess the 'full potential' bit doesn't make much sense because hair doesn't really STOP growing, our hair can if it's not being looked after properly! However these hairstyles work on any hair!

Before you begin: Before you begin, please make sure that your hair isn't knotty, otherwise you'll REALLY struggle doing this! YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO A CORNROW ON YOUR HEAD BY YOURSELF AND A FISHTAIL.

The Double Goddess Braid

What you need:

2 bobby pins

Rubber band (You'll probably need about two)

A comb (To section your hair in parts)

Step 1: Use your comb to part your hair. In the picture above, this is how much hair you should use for your 1st cornrow. YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP DOING THIS UNTIL YOU GET TO THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD

The picture right above this text, shows where you should stop your parting.

Step 2: Now you're going to take a little section of your parting to begin the braid.

Step 3: Now here comes the tricky part. If you know how to do cornrows, then it won't be too hard I guess! Try and make it nice and tight, BUT NOT TOO TIGHT!

Try to keep the same sized braid across your head.

You're gonna wanna braid all the way to the end. For now, secure the end with your bobby pin.

Step 4: Ok so now you're just basically gonna take pretty much the same amount of hair as last time for your fishtail.

Now you just get on with your fishtail.

You're gonna do that until you can no longer.

Now! You must be thinking, 'EERRRRMMM...HELLO? THERES STILL A BIG SECTION AT THE BACK OF MY HEAD THAT'S NOT DONE YET!'

Step 5: All you have to do now is grab all your hair and tie it into a bun. It's your choice to be honest!!

If you wanna make a bun then you might wanna pin in your braids so that they aren't as visible.

By the way, all those pictures...Were NOT me. I'm not allowed to show my whole face yet, but maybe when I'm a teenager you'll be able to see me :)

Bye for now!
